Location and access
La Chanterelle Apartment is situated away from the busy Morzine centre, offering a peaceful retreat while still being conveniently accessible. Here's what you need to know:
Ski Area:
Morzine is located in the heart of the vast Portes du Soleil ski area, offering varied skiing for all levels. On the Morzine/Les Gets side (accessed by The Pleney Telecabine) you will discover wide, winding slopes, forests, fun areas for children, steep slopes for experts and the welcoming village of Les Gets, accessible on skis. Beginners can progress on gentle slopes with tailored ski lessons taught by professional instructors. Here is all you need to know about the Beginner Ski Areas.
At 1,800 m altitude, Avoriaz is the highest resort in the Portes du Soleil, offering unique access to a vast ski area connecting 12 resorts across France and Switzerland.
From the heart of Morzine, reach Avoriaz via the Super Morzine Telecabine and enjoy an extensive ski terrain, breath-taking panoramas, and the freedom to explore neighbouring resorts, all the way to Switzerland. Morzine is the perfect starting point to discover the Portes du Soleil and experience unforgettable ski days.
Ski Bus:
The free ski bus is the quickest way to get to the ski stations down town, and is easily accessible, being just a 140m walk way from La Chanterelle . This is the 'Morzine 1000' stop, on the opposite side of the road, walking away from Morzine centre. This bus (U LINE) will take you to the Super Morzine Telecabine in under 5 minutes. Get off at the roundabout, Rd-point de la Passerelle. For the Pleney TC, stay on the bus until the Pleney stop.
BUS TIME TABLE WINTER 2026 You can also take the A LINE bus from town up to the Prodains Cable Car for easy access to Avoriaz. Great for the non-skier to join you for lunch!
Walking to Town: If you're not wearing ski boots, it's an easy, flat 15/20 minute walk into town.
Ski Hire:
There are many good ski hire shops around town if you need to hire your equipment. It is worth considering one near to the lift you will be using. Otherwise you can jump on Le Petit Train (free) that links the two telecabines and saves you a walk across town in ski boots. It runs continuously on the loop all day so you will never have to wait too long.
You can leave your skis and boots in the shop overnight and have the luxury of putting your shoes on when you have finished your day on the slopes.
We recommend ABC SKI SET which is on the roundabout where you will get off the bus for Super Morzine TC.
(mention La Chanterelle and get a discount)
For the Pleney TC there is a good ski shop that we can recommend - BERGER SKI right in front of the ski station.
Ski Lessons:
There are plenty of options to consider when booking a ski school, from choosing the type of lesson to understanding the different ski and snowboard levels. Follow this link for some useful information.
Ski Passes:
You have the choice of buying a Morzine ski pass to cover Morzine/Les Gets, an Avoriaz ski pass or the entire Portes du Soleil Pass. Info here
You can buy your ski passes online or visit the sales office at the Super Morzine or Pleney Telecabine, open from 8.30 - 17.00.
