Lac de Montriond

This stunning lake – known also as the emerald green lake – sits quietly at the foot of immense cliffs and is a favourite with children and adults thanks to the idyllic view and the feeling of calm it evokes.

Lake Montriond is a huge outdoor playground with something for everyone. It includes a swimming area that’s suitable for very young swimmers (lifeguards in July and August), while other visitors can try pony riding, canoeing & paddle boarding.  You can enjoy a leisurely walk (3.5km) around the lake to take in the intoxicating beauty of it, surrounded by forests, cliffs, waterfalls and famous summits in the Vallée d’Aulps.

The lake is just an 8 minute drive away from Morzine. You will find free parking, public toilets and several places to eat and drink. Alternatively,  take the free public bus from the opposite side of the bridge to the Super Morzine cable car, from bus stop Les Bois Venants, bus line“M”.
